Investment Law
Jordan has enacted the Investment Promotion Law (IPL), which is designed to enhance the investment environment, and has opened the economy to the rest of the world with a vision towards attracting international investors to contribute in the modernization and overall growth of the economy. The IPL aims to achieve these economic objectives by offering the following incentives to businesses:
- Income and social services tax incentives for up to 10 years.
- Total customs exemptions on imported fixed assets.
- Ease of licensing and registration procedures.
- Revenues on exports are exempted from income taxes until the end of 2008.
- Export industries are not subject to customs duties on imported raw materials.
- Free repatriation of capital, profits and salaries.
